The Oscar Winner for Best Arms and a Full Body Workout
I’m sort of behind in pop culture. Hence a post referring to the Oscars two days after the ceremony instead of one. It’s actually sort of pathetic how little I know about pop culture. I thought Hannah Montana’s hair was really blonde until my son informed me it was a wig. And this was after she’d been around for a few years. DUH Mom. Oh well. But one thing I do like is the Oscars. And like most girls it’s not about the ceremony (snore.) but the dresses. As I was scanning through red carpet photos I decided to pick my own Oscar winner. This one for “Best Arms.” And the winner for Best Arms goes to Jessica Biel.
I can’t say the same about the dress though. Ummm? Why does this happen? I think it’s because anyone who is friends with a celebrity is afraid of hurting their feelings or in other words fear of being removed from the inner circle. This may also have something to do with celebrities naming their kids odd names like Kal-El. And wearing silk togas to the Oscars.
Enough nonsense! Here’s another workout I’m doing this week using some of the machines at the gym since it’s my last week there.
A. Pull Ups – Max reps. Use band if needed.
B. Cable Fly – Drop Sets: 10 reps 1st set, 8 reps 2nd set, 6 reps 3rd set (Add weight with each set. Your goals is to make rep 6 of your 3rd set HARD…the last rep you could do)
Perform A-B back to back with no rest. Then rest 1-2 minutes before repeating
A. Lat Pull Down – Drop Sets: 10 reps 1st set, 8 reps 2nd set, 6 reps 3rd set (Using an underhand grip)
B. Single Leg Seated Press – Drop Sets: 10 reps 1st set, 8 reps 2nd set, 6 reps 3rd set
Perform A-B back to back with no rest. Then rest 1-2 minutes before repeating
A. 45 Leg Press – 3 sets of 12
B. Inverted Row – Max Reps – I put my feet on the floor. I working my way up to resting them on a stability ball.
C. Squats on Smith – 3 sets of 12 – Normally I’d just use a barbell but they are all the waaaaay across the room and since I’m already using the Smith machine for my inverted rows I just stay there.
Perform A-C back to back with no rest. Then rest 1-2 minutes before repeating
A. Roman Chair Leg Raises – Max Reps
Rest 1 minute and repeat.
