The Morning After
Sometimes I amaze myself. Seriously I didn’t know it was possible for one person to eat half their body weight in stuffing at one sitting. For as long as I can remember, I’ve stuffed myself with stuffing and other festive foods every Thanksgiving. Every year. The night before I always tell myself this year is going to be different. This year I’ll stop when I’m full. This year I’ll have one plate. This year… Without fail I sit in agony rubbing my belly like Buddha after finishing off 5 pounds of food while trying to discreetly unbutton by pants under the table. This year was no different and you know what? I’m done making promises to myself I can’t keep and I’m certainly not going to beat myself up over it. So what if a few times a year I eat like a bear preparing to go into hibernation. The key is I don’t hibernate. When it comes to food and fitness I may not be perfect but I’m consistent and consistency works.
On another note, I find Black Friday strange. When did stores start opening in the middle of the night? It seems like it must be a recent phenomenon. Or maybe I’ve been living under a rock. I heard stories of people waiting in lines that wrapped around the store at 4 am. FOUR A.M.!!! I did a little research on Wikipedia. It said, “According to Reuters, in 2007 135 million people participated in the Black Friday shopping rush, more than turned out to vote in the 2008 United States presidential election, which recorded the largest voter turn out in history.” Hmmmm… to each his own. I guess. I was reading status updates on Facebook about all the shopping madness and I started feeling like I might be missing out so I did a little online shopping myself… for myself. Shameless. For those of you who might be interested in feminine vintage inspired fashion Tulle is having a good sale all weekend 50% off of everything with free shipping. I’ve actually never bought clothes from Tulle before so I can’t speak of the quality but they do have really cute clothes. I’m a big fan Anthropologie’s clothes but the price is a bit out of my range. Tulle offers some similar styles at a lower price.
Have a great weekend!

I’m definitely with you on the Black Friday thing; I just don’t get it. I’m not a big shopper anyway though, so maybe that’s why. That voting stat is amazing; so telling, and so sad.
Yeah if you’re not a big shopper then Black Friday becomes BLACK Friday. I was wondering about the voting stat. Wondering why people don’t make it out? I wonder if people don’t feel like their vote counts? Don’t care? Don’t like any of the candidates? Forget? I’m sure the reasons run far and wide. I find it very interesting. Thanks for stopping by!
So happy to be reading your posts again. Glad to hear black Friday explained…Thanks : )
Thanks Mom!!!!
