31 Days to a Better Body: Day 9 – Move More
Take the stairs. Go on walks. Park farther away from the store. Organize the garage. Go to Costco. Play and impromptu game of tag. Dance in the kitchen.
Move more.
For me, this is a tough one. I naturally gravitate towards more sendentary type activities. Reading? Writing? Daydreaming? Cuddling? Yes, yes, yes, and YES.
Yet our bodies were designed to move. I remind myself this when I don’t want to mop the floor. Or vacuum the house. Or scrub the shower. Or when someone steals the closer parking spot out from under my nose.
For over a year, I’ve been wearing a Body MediaFit (I love it and it totally deserves it’s own review.) off and on. What I’ve learned is that I the days I burn the most calories are the days I’m active throughout the day. I can get in a total sweat dripping muscle burning workout but if I sit around the rest of the day, I’ll burn more calories during a day filled with errands.
I’m not saying forgo the strength training for shopping. I’m saying look for opportunities to move a little more. It all adds up in a big way and your heart will thank you.
Maybe that mop doesn’t look so bad after all.
Hugs and High Fives,
Jenn

INteresting about the errands versus workout. I’ve heard that before, but never heard of anyone actually testing it. I love it.
