Who does this???
I was at a The Corner Bakery Cafe in Burbank the other day and saw on the table behind me two unfinished desserts.
“What in the world??”
Here’s a close up. Yes I looked like a freak getting up and taking pictures of people’s uneaten food.
Two half eaten pastries. Who does this??? Actually there is more than half of the chocolate one . I could never do that. One, I don’t have that sort of will power. It’s easier for me not to order unhealthy food and then to order it and only eat a bite or two. Which is related to reason number two. I’m frugal. Yeah, I’d be thinking about the $4.75 and feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth if I only ate two bites.
I really wish I could talk to the two-bite-pastry-eaters and find out what they tell themselves so they can get up and leave the pastries without crying.
How are you doing on reaching your goals? Getting closer? Making excuses? I’ve gained a couple of pounds. It could be just PMS but I betting it is a combination of PMS and peanut butter. I’m putting a stop to that today. Peanut butter is amazing but not as amazing as feeling fit and lean and if I don’t address this little issue it could spin our of control. So I’m going to go back to measuring for a few days to get back on track. What do you need to do to maintain or reach your goals? Remember your not on a diet you’re living your life. What sort of life do you want?
You guys are the best! Have a great day!

I couldn’t eat just two bites either! You are adorable, I love you!
LOL that is so funny! Not one but TWO unfinished desserts??? I haven’t weighed myself for about three weeks now as part of a six-week no weigh challenge. I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised come March 6th but who knows? Great job on going back to measuring for a few days – you know the tactics and what can reel you back on track 😉 Love the pic – you look beautiful!
That is mortifying!!! If anything, I would split one pastry w/ my hubby or friend or whomever was with me! I’m way to cheap to buy two and not finish either!!! Besides, if you plan on splitting it w/ someone, you won’t overeat all that yummy, caloric, fatty goodness
Dena – LOL!! Me too!
Michelle – Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately I didn’t do too well on my measuring today. I’m happy to say I’ve laid of the peanut butter. I think that’s great you are staying off the scale for 6 weeks. You’ve come so far I’m sure you be more than pleasantly surprised!
Aimee – I <3 you too!!!
What a crime! If you’re on a diet, don’t order the donuts, don’t order them and eat two bites. I think some people test their will power like this. I’ve seen instances where a famous model goes somewhere and orders a piece of cake, and just stares at it. I live really close to that corner bakery! i’m in the valley (noho area)…. That is neat!
Melody – I know…A CRIME. What sort of eating disorder would that be to just order and stare at unhealthy food. “A torturic”?. How sad. I had never been to a Corner Bakery. I was hoping for a Koo Koo Roo b/c we don’t have one in Ventura but it was gone so we ate there instead. It was good though. Thanks for stopping by!
Such words of wisdom! I don’t even slow down while grocery store near the doughnut/bakery section. No sense it TEMPTING yourself if you can’t have it. I find that it only makes it MUCH, MUCH worse!
With all of that being said, if you oder that $5 eclair EAT THE EVIL THING! Letting it go to waste is just that WASTE! And for those of us that are trying to be strong and DENY ourselves it just pisses us off!! :o)
If it’s chocolate, i eat it. I just don’t order dessert. It’s too much for me to handle! LOL!!
