You want to change your pear shape?
During one of my morning workouts, I caught a glimpse of my shadow.
In an instant, I went from feeling strong to feeling like a pear or a bowling pin. No matter how many swings, sprints, or squats I do, I’m still a bit of a pear shape. I started to get down on myself. I felt like a mismatched Russian nesting doll.
Then I looked up and saw…
The beauty of God’s creation. I remembered life is not all about me.
Or my thighs.
Then…
(If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.)
(and again)
I jumped for joy.
You want to change your pear shape?
Change your perspective.
Hugs and High Fives,
Jenn

At least I’m shaped like my favorite fruit. It could be worse like a… cantaloupe.
What a great post, beautiful pictures!
What a beautiful post! Whenever I’m feeling down on my body, I remember what it does for me- and I feel much better!
Love this post! Yes, it’s all about perspective! Great photos!
Awesome post! Love the beach photos…wishing I was there!
This post is so great! So simple but speaks bounds. I love the pictures too. They are fun and beautiful at the same time.
Jenn,
When I clicked on this post, I thought I was going to get some great workout tips. What I did find was even better.
Our perspective in life is one of the few things we actually have 100 percent control over.
Thanks for reminding me.
That’s exactly right! The best moments in life are not when we are exalted, but when we lose ourselves. For example – the Swiss Alps. You lose yourself in God’s glorious creation. You don’t even think about yourself! Why would you? God is so much better than us.
What an inspiring message! I can relate but in a different way. I’m a belly fat gal. I’ve had belly fat my whole life, even when I was a itty bitty [but super tall] gymnast in high school. I can trim it down but it never goes away, but that’s part of what makes me, me!
Pears unite! But what a great way to turn that frown upside down :-D. Thanks for the perspectivectomy. We all need it from time to time
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww look how beautiful you are and what a happy and positive post!!!!! You are such a beautiful girl inside and out!!!! Love ya!!

You are spot on! Changing our perspective makes a huge difference in all areas of our lives.
I’m so glad you stumbled onto my blog because these comments that you left – “My hope is with time the valleys will be fewer and not as deep.” – have given me something to think about. I really appreciate those words – I never really thought about trying to “level out” the mountains and the valleys. So, thank you for that.
I love this post btw – I am very much a pear, and even though I have learned to embrace my pear-ness, I can still totally appreciate everything you said.
I can’t wait to dig into your blog more!
I really liked your comment on Diane’s blog, “Depression used to control my eating habits. Now I control depression (more of less) with my eating habits. …” I really related to that and the rest of what you had to say.
you make me smile and ALWAYS make me feel better about myself.
Beautiful pictures! Love the perspective … going to email you tonight
ohmygoodness I LOVE THIS POST! It’s so not what I thought you were going to say and I’m surprised in a wonderful way. Love the pictures, love your advice, love your smile:) I needed this today.
PS> I’m your sister in pear-ness. I will look positively skeletal up top and still have plenty of fleshy goodness down below. Ah well.
Hi Jenn! Love this post about changing your perspective. It can apply in so many areas of our life.
I am enjoying reading your blog–there is a lot to explore. Loved the pic. of your cute kids and your cute husband, and cute you! I was so excited to read that you have two pugs! Did you see the post in my blog about Mr. Monk–I just got a pug a week ago. And love the daylights out of him already!
Interestingly enough, during one of my extended body-loathing moments (I’ve always considered myself too top-heavy–I tend to carry weight in my chest, arms, and the dreaded bra rolls), right as I was about to resign to being an apple, I caught a sideways glimpse of myself “au naturale” in the mirror. I did a double take and thought, “The boobs are there, yes…but I’m loving this waist right about now…my back is looking just as proportionate…and are those–yes, those are *hips*…could it be that I’m a pear with boobs??” And I walked away smiling.
Bear in mind that my measurements have always confirmed this according to the old ten-inches-difference rule, but for some reason this was the first time in a long time I’d actually seen it with my own eyes. I was personally thrilled at the prospect of whittling my body down to a Beyonce-esque pear (I’ll never be quite as curvy as her, but a girl can dream) rather than an inverted traffic cone.
Perspective, indeed.
Nice template, at last discovered the place for alluring background images
