Announcement!!! Adventure Ahead!!!
I have a confession.
There is so much that I’m interested besides health and I have a hard time fitting it all into Girl Heroes.
Don’t get me wrong. I love writing about health, fitness, and food.
It’s just that health and fitness is a part of my life, it’s not my life.
Plus we have some big changes coming up later this year.
We are going to move into an RV and go on a year long road trip!
(If you thought I was insane before…well…you were right.)
Introducing my new blog, Newschool Nomads
New School Nomads is going to be about
– Simplifying Life
– Preparing for Life on the Road
– Working on the Road
– Home and Roadschooling
– Landmarks, Museums, National Parks, Cites, ect
– Frugal Fashion
– Finding adventure and beauty in the every day at home and on the road
So far you’ll find
Who? What? When? Where? Why?
(The 5 Ws of our trip.)
In search of our nomadic home.
(This post is about when we looked at my dream RV and why it won’t happen)
And a few other things like Land Sailing in Primm and Peek-A-Boo. I’ve been working on the blog in my spare time over the last two months so there is not a whole lot up yet.
So what does this mean for Girl Heroes???
I’m going to keep writing Girl Heroes because, like I said, health and fitness is a part of my life and I enjoy interacting with you so much. I’m going to try sticking with a more regular posting schedule with more workouts and ideas for staying fit and lean. There is an exercise video library in the works. (When we hit the road, I’d love to film a new workout in every state with visit.) Cooking is also one of my creative outlets so I plan to keep sharing the healthy recipes I come up with or come across. Most of all, I want to continue to find and post about Girl Heroes. Afterall, that is why I started this blog . Soooo…if you know would like to be featured or know someone who does I’d love to hear from you.
All this said, a number of you have become good friends and, honestly, even if we have never interacted I consider you a friend. I know life is busy and fitting in another blog to read is difficult and I certainly don’t expect that of you. If you read Girl Heroes (thank you!) and enjoy my more personal posts then you may want to read New School Nomads. If you prefer the workouts and recipes then I hope you’ll stick around here!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!! (Can you believe it’s almost June!!! Yeesh!!)
Hugs and High Fives,
Jenn

How very exciting for you and your family! As I get to know you better, I am fascinated! You are a true renaissance woman! I am looking forward to following you on your adventure!
Thanks Karen! I have to say your comment made me giggle because Brent (my husband) and I have a running joke about being a “renaissance” man. Brent really is good at a lot of things (Me? I just pretend I am. ) but he is also very quiet and stoic at the same time. So I always tell him I’m going to hack his Facebook account and type in his status “I consider myself a Renaissance man.” I can just imagine the comments his friends would make on his status. And I always use this very serious voice when I tease him. Anyway it’s probably not sounding funny now but it is. I think.
I am so jealous that you are going to live in an RV for a year!!! I would do that too, but I think I’d get bored alone if it were me.
I’ll read whatever blog you post wherever you post it, lady. You just let me know where to look.
I don’t think you’d get bored. I think you could entertain yourself in a cardboard box. I mean that in a totally cool and loving way!
Wow! it’s finally happening! You must be beyond excited! it will be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to savor- the kids may grumble at first, but I bet they’ll LOVE it! I think that I told you that derek and I would like to do that some day too- we haven’t seen enough of our own country and that needs to change at some point.
let me know when you think you’ll leave- we’ll need to have a swan song kettlebell workout on the beach or a gyros plate in thousand oaks! Would love to say bye to the kiddos and brent too!
How about your tell me about all the fabulous places around the world and I’ll tell you about America! I’m sure I’ll see you a few times before we go. xoxo
Love it!! So glad NSN is live now! Can’t wait to see what adventures you guys have!
(And, also, what adorable outfits you wear whilst doing them…;))
I’m sure you’ll have them all!!! 😉
How exciting! Traveling for a year is something I have sometimes thought about, but, honestly, I know I wouldn’t do it (well, at least not anytime soon). I think it’s great that you guys are going to do it! And I’ll love to follow your adventures along on your new blog! Wishing you a wonderful time!!!
I think it would be hard with the toddler. Maybe you’ll reconsider when he is a bit older. You are always so encouraging. I, sincerely, thank you for that!
wowie, that sounds so awesome. Blogs are kinda overrated. I love yours and mine, most days, but they should never get in the way of life’s adventures. Whatever you post, I’ll still read. And if you don’t post, its not the end of the world, cause I know your doing way-too-much-fun stuff.
I would love to meet you though before you leave. Maybe I’ll join with deb on that kettlebell workout.
Thanks Eden. Yeah, I’m not a very “good” blogger. Life tends to get in the way. 😉 Oh well. I do hope we get to meet.
Wow Jenn!!! What a great adventure. Every time I check you out you are doing something new and exciting. I look forward to following your travels.
Or maybe new and “crazy”. 😉 Thanks, Debby! 😀
We are so excited for you! This is also one of our dreams – Hello? Caravan across country! Can’t wait to see what comes next and where!
Thanks, Tiffany. Yeah, I’m really excited but also really nervous. It should be an adventure and one I’m sure you’ll take if it’s one of your dreams!
Yay! Can’t wait for you to join the on-the-road community.
